What Size Battery Does a Hummer H2 Take?

Auto batteries are assigned a group using the Battery Council International (BCI) group size standard. You can find the correct BCI group size for a Hummer H2 by checking your owner's manual or by looking the information up online.

How Many CCAs Does a Hummer H2 Require?

Cold Cranking Amps (CCAs) tell you how well an auto battery will perform in freezing temperatures. Vehicle manufacturers provide a recommended CCA rating for each model they produce. You can find the CCA rating for a Hummer H2 in your owner's manual or by searching online.

How are AGM and Flooded Batteries Different?

Flooded Battery

A flooded battery is the most basic type of auto battery and has the lowest upfront cost. Unlike AGM batteries, flooded batteries are not fully sealed. Because of this, some flooded batteries require you to maintain the electrolyte inside by periodically adding distilled or deionized water.

AGM Battery

AGM batteries last longer and are more powerful than flooded batteries. An AGM battery will cost you more upfront than a flooded battery, however, AGM lasts 2-3X longer, which usually saves you money in the long run. AGM batteries are completely sealed and require no additional maintenance. Plus, they do a better job of turning over an engine in extreme hot and cold temperatures. One important thing to keep in mind; if your Hummer originally came from the factory with an AGM battery installed, you must replace it with another AGM battery.
