Ford Expedition FAQs

Common BCI Group Sizes seen in Expedition's are the 65 and 94R. Many newer Expeditions come with AGM batteries. It is important that you never downgrade to a flooded battery when your vehicle came from the factory with an AGM. AGM batteries give you more cranking power, vibration resistance and more resilience to extreme temperatures than flooded batteries will. Some older models do have the option of using either flooded or AGM. Make sure you verify in your owner's manual, check under the hood or use the fitment finder before purchasing to make sure you get the right battery. In our recent article, you'll learn why you don't want to install the wrong size battery   in your Expedition.

Battery replacements for the Ford Expedition will range anywhere from $180 for a Duracell Ultra flooded battery all the way to $350 for a premium AGM X2Power battery. Why not have your new battery installed by a Batteries Plus professional while you wait? Let us do the work for you.

Take care of your Expedition's battery and you should get an average of 3 - 5 years out of it. Routinely checking the battery terminals for corrosion and removing it if there is any with a terminal cleaner is a must. Help keep your battery healthy by reducing short trips so the alternator has time to recharge the battery as you drive. If you don't take care of your battery you could be replacing it much earlier than expected.
