Launched in 2004 as a replacement for the Grand Am, the G6 had a sharp design with clean lines. The new design introduced with the G6 was a major change from previous Pontiac cars. The new G6 was nice to look at and even more fun to drive. 2 years after the launch of the G6 sedan a convertible and a 2-door coupe version was launched to appeal to other drivers. In an attempt to avoid bankruptcy during the financial crisis of 208, the G6 went through a redesign to try to persuade more people to purchase a Pontiac. Unfortunately, by 2010 Pontiac, owned by General Motors, shut down as carmakers were forced to downsize.
